Proposals

The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery is inviting proposals of original new media works of art for possible inclusion in an exhibition based on the theme of Erasure. If you have an idea or artwork to share please follow the guidelines below. Contributors retain the copyright to all work.

PLEASE follow these guidelines carefully.

Your proposal should be in the region of 200-300 words, describing your artwork or ideas and identifying the media used. In addition, you should include a CV of your previous work or exhibitions.

Images of original, previously unpublished artwork may be submitted via email or post. PLEASE do not request that we view your blog or photo albums for art work – send in pieces YOU would like us to consider.

Emailing artwork: All image files must be at least 300 dpi in either .jpg or .tiff format . Filenames MUST contain the artist’s name and title of the piece (e.g. Joe_Bloggs_Windows.jpg). Files must be accompanied by artist’s full name, location and e-mail address. E-mail to: alec.morrison@stoke.gov.uk  Please do not send more than three attachments per e-mail.

Submitting art by post: Please send high quality photos OR original artwork, addressed to: Jean Milton, The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Bethesda Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 3DW.

All submissions must be accompanied by the artist’s full name, e-mail and location.

  • Deadline for submissions: Thursday 18 March 2010
  • Selection date: Wednesday 31 March 2010
  • Exhibition: 29 January – 2 May 2011

The artists selected will have their work on display for the entire duration of the exhibition, but in addition they will be asked to provide their source material in digital format, which can be used by others to create second and third generation works which may also be displayed during the exhibition.
