Leave No Trace

One of the aims of the Leave No Trace project will be to ask local artists and students to respond to a particular piece of commissioned work. There will be a twist, however. Those whose work is accepted will be asked to allow others to reuse and rework their digital pieces. All that’s some way down the road yet, but there’s a similar challenge going on right now at Create Digital Motion. Everyone is invited to rework any of the visual elements in an animation that has been released under a minimal Creative Commons licence.

There aren’t many rules, but the time available is short, so why not get started, just for some practice if nothing else? You could argue that digital mashups are the ultimate in post-modernist deconstruction.
